Support The Mojave National Preserve

Mojave Desert Solitude in Southern California

Imagine a place where the sand dunes sing, where more Joshua trees grow than anywhere else on the planet, where desert tortoises munch on brilliant wildflowers in the spring.

Located in the heart of the Mojave Desert between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Mojave National Preserve protects 1.6 million acres of diverse desert habitat and 10,000 years of diverse human history. The landscape is vast and inspiring, with habitats from cactus gardens to native desert grassland, from pinyon-juniper forest to ancient white fir forest.

Home to magnificent spring blooms, 700-foot sand dunes, natural springs, bighorn sheep, desert tarantulas, and stunning mountain ranges, the Mojave National Preserve is one of California's best-kept secrets.
